BIDDIZZA | Orange Wine 2024 | 1L | Italy
Two grapes, ancient soils, no shortcuts.
Alcamo sits between Palermo and Trapani on calcareous soils that hold moisture through Sicily's brutal summers, which is the only reason anything survives out there. Biddizza is a skin-contact white built from two local grapes: Catarratto and Zibibbo. No pesticides, no herbicides, no additives. The skin maceration gives it texture and a dry finish that the grapes alone wouldn't produce.
It's citrusy and aromatic with enough grip to pair with food but enough brightness to drink on its own. Tinned fish. A cheeseboard. A shaded afternoon with nowhere to be. The kind of wine that earns the word interesting without requiring explanation.
No pesticides, no herbicides, no additives. Native yeast. 1L.
