Puglia is not subtle and neither is this wine.

One of the region's early organic farming operations, hand-picking grapes and fermenting with native yeast while the rest of Puglia was still catching up. The land does most of the work here: Adriatic salt air, relentless sun, soils that have been growing wine grapes for a very long time. Primitivus is what comes out the other side.

It's a big, dark red with real presence. The kind of thing you open at a table with grilled meat and people who aren't afraid of a full glass. Not delicate, not trying to be. Cool it down slightly if you're drinking it outside on a warm night. It can take it.
