Hatfield Creek | Zinfandel | 2019
Elaine Lyttleton and Norm Case purchased their storied property in 2006, the same year the Ramona Valley AVA became official. The winery became bonded and licensed and up and running in 2012. There are 3 acres of Zinfandel, and Petite Sirah planted, with another 1.5 acres being prepared for planting. Ms. Lyttleton makes “big, dry, bold reds that you can stand a spoon up in.” These are indeed big bold wines, but they are not boozy. All current selections weigh in under 14% ABV. Every single wine that they have submitted to competition has won a medal.
